Bordeaux 2005 tasting notes - dry whites

All of these Pessac-Léognan whites were tasted blind, as you can probably tell from the notes. The word in Bordeaux is that this was a top quality vintage for dry whites but I remember being more impressed by the 2004 dry whites at this stage, perhaps because they were even more successful relative to the reds. The 2005 dry whites are certainly very appetising, with an increasingly wide range of well-made styles in which Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and the increasingly popular Sauvignon Gris respectively dominate. Bordeaux is particularly useful if you’re looking for a dry wine made from these grapes that has much more ageing...
