Bordeaux 2005 tasting notes – St-Julien
This was, as usual, a very solid performance though perhaps not as relatively thrilling as in some more difficult years – with even Léoville Las Cases showing the opulence of the vintage in the ascendant over its obvious longevity. Only Léoville Barton , tasted three times, once blind, was less forthcoming than I would have expected whereas I was utterly seduced by Langoa Barton at this early stage. There is no shortage of potential in the Léoville Barton so if it is released at its usual moderate price and you manage to get your hands on it at early prices, you will doubtless have no cause for regret....
