Davos - the discreet charm of classic claret

It was a huge pleasure to present nine fully mature red bordeaux to 40 participants here at the World Economic Forum in snowy Davos. We opened 3 bottles of wine from 1975 Cheval back to a 1952 Latour, but including such less starry names as 1962 Cantemerle and a Dutch bottled 1959 Haut Bages Liberal, and we had just one dud bottle, an oxidised Lafite 1962 (of which the other three contained some of the most exciting wine of the tasting).
