This was the fabulous tasting I was lucky enough to moderate at the Palais Coburg in Vienna earlier this year. For more details of this extraordinary hotel and wine collection see Cheval Blanc back to two bottlings of the fabled 1947 .     I wonder how my olfactory bulb was reacting to that day's surfeit of stimulation and pleasure when I spent the middle of it tasting the sumptuous burgundies below with wine enthusiasts from all over Europe (including winemaker Alvaro Palacios of L’Ermita in Priorat incidentally) and the evening exposing to a succession of great Chevals.
