  For my general introduction to the vintage, see Germany 2006 – vintage overview .   The 200 tasting notes below are mainly for 2006 dry German wines, principally Riesling but with a few examples of Silvaner. Tasting notes for the fruity and sweet wines (mainly from the Mosel and the Nahe) were published here .   The notes below were mostly taken in Wiesbaden at the end of August at the VDP presentation of Grosses Gewächs wines, virtually all of them dry with relatively few from the Mosel.
