Bordeaux 1990 and 2000 compared

The Wine Society plundered its famously useful Stevenage cellars (see our recently updated wine storage survey ) to provide 250 of its members with a look at the five left bank first growths from a pair of top notch vintages 10 years apart, 2000 and 1990. At £195 a ticket, including excellent service at Merchant Taylors’ Hall in the City (though only ISO glasses) it was a bargain – as you can see from the approximate prices per bottle given in italics for each wine below.
