Advances in fighting Pierce's Disease

Angray Kang, Reader in Biosciences, University of Westminster sends this interesting observation:
 
I read with interest the article by Jancis Robinson in last weekend’s edition of the FT on Mellowing nicely in Napa. In particular the conversation with Bob Steinhauer on Pierce’s Disease. The disease is caused by a bacteria Xylella fastidiosa and is transmitted by the glassy winged sharpshooter (a leaf hopper).

Here in Central London (not Temecula or Napa) I am involved a project to develop a novel intervention to augment current approaches for controlling PD. I thought I would take this opportunity to bring this to your attention. See attached links.
