2007 was a very good vintage for most varieties, especially for reds, and more especially for Tannat.
We had a dry and not too cold end of winter with a normal spring and normal rains until end of November. Weather conditions were a bit unstable with strong winds by the end of the period and this situation led to an earlier (1 week) but smaller flower set. Spring frosts affected some vineyards so the crop was reduced by 20% compared to vintage 2006.
