South Africa 2007: Introduction Wines of South Africa / SAWIS A cool growing season produced exciting white and red wines after the cold winter and favourable climatic conditions of 2006 had set the scene for the 06/07 season. It was a very healthy season, the harvest was long and drawn out with early varieties ripening up to 10 days earlier than normal and an increased yield of 4.2 per cent compared with the 2006 crop.
