Secrets of the en primeur tastings - video
Ever wondered what an en primeur tasting in Bordeaux looks like? The Union des Grands Crus, bless them, allow journalists to taste wines blind in well organised tastings at various chateaux. We are each assigned a group and then meet up with each other every morning at a pre-determined location where we can taste in virtually complete silence - as you will hear on the short film below.
This was taken yesterday morning at Ch Haut-Bailly where our group was tasting Graves reds and whites. Note Julia working hard, and those clever little socks that disguise the identities of the wines we tasted. (We are given a crib at the end.)...
