Many of you may be very familiar with looking at moving images on your computer screen but for debutants wondering how to get to grips with the strange-looking tv-like images in our video presentations here are a few tips from a fellow amateur.
-To play, click on the little triangular/arrowhead icon at the extreme bottom left of the 'screen'/video player inside the article. Sometimes you may have to click twice.
-If the film and sound seem very jerky first time you play them, try again. Very often they need to settle down. (Think of this process a bit like decanting a fine wine to let it acclimatise itself.)
-To hear the sound you will of course have to activate your volume control. On my pc there's a loudspeaker icon bottom right of my computer screen. Right click on it to adjust your volume control and ensure 'mute' is unchecked. There's a further volume control bottom right of the little video player within our articles.
-To stop the film, or go forwards or backwards, just use the icons to the right of the 'play' icon under the screen, just as you would a tape player.
Er, that's it.
