Those who travel in Germany and Austria know perfectly well how many fine red wines are now made and sold in those countries, but many wine lovers elsewhere are still unaware of the red wine revolution that has been effected by German-speaking wine producers. Here’s a small collection of Pinot Noirs from German-speaking countries tasted recently and alluded to here . It’s always a pleasure to dispel preconceptions and any of these wines would serve to demonstrate that the best producers of Germany and Austria make very sophisticated red wines nowadays.
