Niepoort and Noval declare 2005
Although the great majority of port houses will concentrate on 2004 as their big vintage port release of the middle of this decade, AXA’s Quinta do Noval and Dirk Niepoort’s family port shipper are declaring a vintage in 2005.
Christian Seely (left) of Quinta do Noval has decided to release his vintage port not, as Dirk Niepoort (see recent video here, and below) originally thought, as a Quinta do Noval but under the name Silval used for their second tier vintage ports, generally sold at a much lower price then the Quinta do Noval vintage port of the same year.
