Fizz for noctambulists?
The Syndicat of the Vin de Pays d’Oc has registered the name Noctambulles for its sparkling wines. The alternative name, Noc en Bulles , is even sillier.
Because you cannot currently put the words Vin de Pays d’Oc on a quality sparkling wine, the idea is to establish a regional brand name pour valoriser (to add value to) these products. Hmm. And the Syndicat has produced a cahier des charges (ie a set of specifications) for wines using this moniker.
The first are likely to appear this year, though the official launch is not until the Vinisud wine show in early 2010. Can you wait that long?
