Australia's sale of the century?

I recently asked a close observer of the Australian wine scene what the current hot topics are there and here is the response. Domestic wine sales are down by approx 10%, partly because of the astonishing growth in imports . Imports are growing at over 50% a year and now account for well over 10% of local wine sales, for the first time since the late 1970s. Indeed, the Australian market's largest white wine brand is not Australian but Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc (from New Zealand!).
