Some solid American values
I recently tasted this collection of 30 distinctive American wines currently on offer in the UK (that last phrase alone is unusual) and which by coincidence included three wines from Benziger, about whom Victoria Daskal wrote so enthusiastically here yesterday. Like her, I was very impressed by the Benziger wines, and by quite a few others listed below in the order that importers Bibendum presented them.
There was hardly anything here that conforms to the stereotypical image of over-alcoholic blockbusters – I suspect a reflection both of the Bibendum buying policy but also of changes afoot in California anyway. Apart...
