The most common question I am asked (apart from where on earth I got my funny name from – Precious Bane , by Mary Webb) is ‘There are so many wines to choose from. How can I learn more about them?’ There is no doubt about it, the world of wine is getting more and more complex and confusing. Consumers are confronted by a wider range of countries, regions, grape varieties and styles than ever before. Meanwhile, wine is a more popular interest worldwide than it has ever been, resulting in literally millions of newcomers to wine around the globe.
