Lynch Bages in great nick
The notes below were taken last week at wine merchants Roberson on Kensington High Street, where a line-up of eight vintages of Château Lynch Bages alongside two of Averous and one of Blanc were being introduced by the châteaux’s president, and new president of Bordeaux’s Union des Grands Cru Classés, Sylvie Cazes-Regimbeau pictured here. They all displayed excellently, and presented a fascinating peek at the evolution of some of Bordeaux’s most heralded vintages. The condition of all the samples was outstanding too, a fact commented on by Mme Cazes-Regimbeau who said the 1961 was one of the best she had tried.
