Farr Vintners hosted this great tasting of 22 of the top 2005 red Bordeaux in London at the beginning of this month. A group of 60 tasters, including quite a few producers taking a break from their 2008 harvest such as Hubert de Boüard filmed here , sipped from four bottles of each wine in Vintners' Hall. Farr charged £450 a head and in some cases were given the wine, but even so lost money on the event, I am told. This exceptional and famous vintage is no bargain.
