Great news from Clos des Papes
Here's a scene from my recent visit to Clos des Papes which should set the heart of any lover of Rhône wines racing. You will see on the right, the gentleman in the flat cap that is presumably the veteran of many a horse race, one John Livingstone-Learmonth, author of the excellent Wines of the Northern Rhone .
He is spending time in the southern Rhône because he is writing the companion volume at last, the Wines of the Southern Rhône , which will also be published by the University of California Press. This is surely great news.
And who better to get some quotes from than Paul-Vincent Avril of...
