A rosy foretaste of summer

With snow still lying on the ground outside in London, a tasting of southern French rosés was seasonally anachronistic but all the more enjoyable for that. Here were a hundred summer holidays, bottled, chilled and fitted with slo-flo pourers lest the heat of nostalgia gave anyone a sudden thirst. In pursuit of good-value summer drinking, I focused on the cheaper end of the scale and was pleased to find some very enjoyable pinks of every different hue offering good value for money, indicated by 'GV'. They are sorted by alphabetical order of producer (sur)name, with UK retailers and reported prices listed in italics....
