The notes below are a snapshot comparison of three UK importers as viewed through their Italian wines. The selection was deliberately random, to get a feel for the range from each supplier, so there are wines from all manner of IGTs and DOCs: some household names, others decidedly less so. I tasted the entire range from Inama, Pieropan and Alois Lageder - all very solid, although the latter sometimes looked a bit expensive. I was delighted to discover the reds from the all three producers are largely excellent and very worthy stablemates to the more famous whites.
