Pommersfelden - Franken holiday home
Continuing this week's German theme, I thought you might like to see a couple of short films shot outside and then inside Pommersfelden, the Schönborn family’s summer establishment in the middle of the Franken countryside. Here we see a group of international wine writers, who had been invited to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Silvaner grape the next day, arriving at this 300-year-old baroque masterpiece. The place was freezing – it has never been heated and is occupied only in the height of summer – so our dinner, thank goodness, took place in the slightly more modest stable block you can see opposite the main building....
