Heads up on Grange 2004

I've now been lucky enough to have two chances to taste the latest vintage of Penfolds Grange, the most famous wine of the southern hemisphere. The 2004 was launched in Australia on 1 May and was tasted online in the US by our very own Linda Murphy, our West Coast editor. What I can say is that it is the most complex, sophisticated young Grange I can remember tasting. It is absolutely beautiful to taste, nay drink, now.   At the UK launch at Mortons club in London today it went beautifully with a tournedos and a rich, savoury, almost syrupy but bone dry sauce based on Venezuelan chocolate (of course).
