Our African week continues...
Paul Boutinot, pragmatic and successful owner of a wine importing business based in Manchester in the north-west of England, has settled on South Africa to make his best wine yet. Boutinot already have their own brands but Waterkloof is clearly Paul's wine. He used to own Clos de Cray in Montlouis in the Loire but his hopes for the property were dashed when the grower reneged on an agreement to sell him the vineyards. (Coincidentally, Clos de Cray was a wine I absolutely loved when I was first got the wine bug in the late 1990s.)
