Yesterday we published a video record of where Frédéric Engerer, president of Ch Latour, was last weekend (see Latour in London ). But this photograph shows where he was the weekend before, on one of his many visits to Shanghai. Leading wine importers into China, ASC Fine Wines, organised what they claim was the first charity wine auction in China - 'Encountering Bordeaux in Shanghai' - at Hyatt on the Bund on 6 Jun. (Although I thought one of the scenes in the third and final episode of the recent BBC4 series on wine showed Paul Pontallier of Ch Margaux at a charity auction in China...?) More than 100 guests...
