1999 red bordeaux - how are they now?
See this overview of this very useful look at 53 of the most significant 1999 red bordeaux on their tenth anniversary. I'm particularly thrilled to be able to add these notes to this site since I have not done a major horizontal tasting of this vintage since 2003, when they had not long been in bottle. And what better time to report on them than when the majority are ready to drink? I will be commenting more on this on Saturday but basically some of the Pessac-Léognan wines seemed to have aged much more gracefully than some of the St-Émilions, while Ch Lafleur (pictured) continued to shine particularly brightly.
