I was told recently by a young Turkish architect working in Georgia (a star performer in WSET exams apparently) that last harvest the first Georgian ice wine was made. Watch out, Canada! He also told me, incidentally, that the US has pumped so much money into this ex Soviet republic that the road in to the capital Tbilisi from the airport is called George W Bush St.
