The best wines of last century?

Now for a bit of non-topical fun, the notes I took at the most amazing tasting held nearly 10 years ago on 24 Nov 1999, so long ago that the merchant who organised it no longer exists. La Réserve shops around London are now part of the Jeroboams group but, thanks to the enthusiasm of Mark Reynier who used to own La Réserve, a series of great tastings were held under his company's auspices and this was the best ever. Mark decided to hold a tasting of some of the most famous wines in the world to celebrate the approaching turn of the century. I dread to think how much it would cost to hold a similar tasting today, and even 10 years ago...
