Here are highlights from my all-too-brief, not-at-all-comprehensive tasting of 2007 and 2008 Finger Lakes Rieslings [readers may remember similar comments that prefaced my set of tasting notes on Finger Lakes wines New York wines - a snapshot a couple of years ago, leading to some outspoken reaction on our members' forum - JR]. These wines rarely are sold outside the East Coast, due to their low production, high local demand and the wineries' difficulty in securing wholesaler representation in other markets, as outlined in my New York - quirks and best wines . Some have permits to ship to consumers in other states, yet most US markets...
