Limoux, in the green hills of the south-western Languedoc with stunning views of the Pyrenees, is one of France's most fascinating appellations. There is real value to be found here, both in still and sparkling wines. See my overview here and in the FT and look seriously at these alternatives to champagne (made before champagne was, they claim) and to both white and red burgundy.
