Although of course I am missing Julia, who is staying at home trying to make sense of my tasting notes and marshalling them ready to be published next week, Charlie Matthews of travel company Bordeaux Uncorked is proving an excellent driver and navigator - very important when one has back-to-back appointments at various châteaux dotted around an often confusing landscape. No part of the Bordeaux winescape is as confusing as the plateau of Pomerol and environs but this year we must say a big thank you to LVMH, who have thoughtfully erected two sky-high cranes above Château Cheval Blanc to provide a thoroughly useful navigation...
