In 2008 when the news hit that Fred and Peggy Furth, owners of Sonoma County's esteemed Chalk Hill Estate Winery , were divorcing, tongues wagged: who would get the property in the settlement?
If Lewis Perdue of WineIndustryInsight.com is correct in his report last Friday, Chalk Hill Estate is for sale, and Foley Family Wines is the most likely buyer of the 1,300-acre property, 350 acres planted to vineyards on the eastern edge of the Russian River Valley.
