Over the last 15 months I have discovered good wine in Turkey, Russia and in bottles that had been brought to London from Baja California in Mexico. The vineyards that supplied these wines are all well within the traditional bands of temperate climate around each hemisphere that are popularly supposed to be responsible for the world's wine production, so they did not surprise me greatly.
