Notes from the IMW AGM
What's the collective noun for Masters of Wine? Yesterday was our Annual General Meeting at Vintners' Hall in London and the assembled company ranged from just-qualified MWs such as Alex Hunt to very senior Michael Broadbent via non-UK residents such as Fiona Morrison from Belgium and Bordeaux, Joel Butler from the US and Madeleine Stenwreth from Sweden.
The AGM was preceded by a seriously impressive tasting laid on by the Institute's new sponsor, the Istituto del Vino Italiano di Qualità - Grandi Marchi, Italy's six-year-old group of 17 top producers, introduced by a short Q and A session with its president Piero Antinori....
