Matching food, snow and ice

Those of us in Britain are experiencing the most prolonged period of snow and ice that many of us can remember. This is the sort of weather that tells us to stay indoors and comfort ourselves with as much good food and drink as we can muster. Nick being one of nature's hosts rather than guests, we tend to depend on friends intrepid enough to combat the snow, ice and London Transport to make their way to us to share said food and drink.
