I finally made it to Heston Blumenthal's new restaurant Dinner overlooking the park from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London last night and it was no disappointment. (See Nick's review .) To me the most amazing thing about this place, the hottest ticket for fashion-conscious diners since it opened in February, is how buzzy and relaxed it feels. It's the very opposite of a hush and hallow. Not a white tablecloth in sight and very modern in design. People seem to be having a great time and are talking all the time but it's quite easy to hear your dinner companions. No muzak. Friendly young waiting staff flit purposefully about....
