The! Bern event - dinner wines
You may remember this announcement of an event in Bern last July that was coolly announced as The! Wine Tasting of the Year . I was lucky enough to attend this tasting and dinner featuring a quite extraordinary array of great wines served by Danish wine enthusiasts Rene and Malene Dehn at the Hotel Schweizerhof in the Swiss capital.
For reasons described in more detail in Fear and Loathing in ... Bern , for the pre-dinner tasting - which included 1961 and 1945 first growths and miraculously mature red burgundies - I have had to rely considerably on Rene's own notes to bolster of my own memory of these glorious wines....
