Which Bordeaux vintage is best value?
For my detailed look at how 1996 crus classés are tasting now, published in Bordeaux '96s today , I asked Liv-ex to calculate the average price of each significant vintage currently in commercial circulation. Below is their average price per dozen bottles in bond by vintage across 23 leading Bordeaux châteaux, which I thought you might find interesting.
2001s look the best value to me, with 2009 clearly over-valued. News is that 2011 has been a particularly challenging vintage, with more rain this week. Optical sorters at the ready, folks!
