This article could just as well be entitled 'How to enlarge your DOCG'. As Jancis reported here 'Moscatomania' seems to have gripped the United States, a fact that has not eluded savvy Asti producers. It is hard to imagine that Asti ever fell out of favour with a large audience when looking at the sales figures of 106 million bottles sold last year only. Someone must be drinking it, even though for many years it was reckoned the epitome of naffness. But with its new street cred it is no longer a wine to be ashamed of.
