To mark the official commencement of my dissertation studies, I created a shortcut folder on my desktop. Here now was an indelible reminder of my new project, visible every time I fired up the ol’ macbook, to chide me into action! After several subsequent weeks of thoroughly ignoring it every time I fired up the ol’ macbook, I thought I perhaps ought to do something, so I made an appointment to see my dissertation mentor.
