Wine Relief 2013 kicks off

1 Feb 2013 by Jancis Robinson

8 Feb - A full list of Wine Relief wines is now available online here

Wine Relief 2013, the wine-based contribution to the fundraising activities of this year's Comic Relief, kicks off today. From 1 February until Red Nose Day on Friday 15 March 2013, retailers Laithwaites, Majestic, Virgin Wines, M&S, Waitrose, Oddbins and Selfridges as well as fine-wine traders Farr Vintners will donate a percentage from the sale of specially selected wines, thereby giving us wine lovers a chance to help change the lives of disadvantaged people living across the UK and Africa.

Since 1999, Wine Relief has raised over £4 million for Comic Relief. A full list of this year's Wine Relief wines is available here.

Do please use the comments box below to report on when and whether retailers are launching their Wine Relief wines. They all tend to start their campaigns on different days of the week - but we are of course extremely grateful for every small contribution.

Please also feel free to
contact me via the comments box with any suggestions of how you think you might help to raise funds, whether you're connected to the wine trade or not. Every little helps and will be much appreciated.

All this is wonderful news. As David Cameron and others have discovered, there is nothing more powerful than a coven of mothers. Do please spread the word.

Still trying to get a complete list of wines up on the Comic Relief website. Maybe we'll publish it anyway!

HI jancis  Just heard about this from the lovely Helen McGinn who I see has commented above.  And I am one of those bloggers (and Neil and Olivia Donnan's daughter ex Chateau Masburel owners).   Will do all I can to promote this.

Hi Team Jancis, some blogging friends of mine have just come back from Ghana on a trip for CR, I posted about it on my blog earlier this week. Amazing stuff. Anyhow, they will help spread the word about Wine Relief  via twitter/their personal blogs and possibly a tasting. I'll post about it too, obviously. And buy some wine, most importantly! Good luck x
