Now that the dust has settled, even on the wines of 2012, one can take the opportunity to draw some meaningful comparisons between three very different vintages in Germany, 2010, 2011 and 2012. (Click on the tags at the end of the article to see all our earlier coverage of these vintages.) I deliberately do not include 2013, as what has been shown so far of this difficult vintage is still at an embryonic stage. Cask samples and the earlier-bottled estate wines may provide some pointers but do not allow a conclusive overall judgement....
