Bargain Pol at The Harrow

I’ve had a round robin from active purple pager and Michelin-starred chef Roger Jones of The Harrow at Little Bedwyn and thought some of it might be of interest to those of you within striking distance of this restaurant near Marlborough in Wiltshire, UK.

They are closing for a fairly fundamental refurbishment after lunch on Sunday 10 Aug until Wed 3 Sep, but all next week will be selling Pol Roger NV for just £28 a bottle which, Roger reports, is less than the price at Waitrose supermarkets (although I have to be a spoilsport and point out that you can buy this excellent champagne for £26 at Hennings of Pulborough and Ava Wines of Bangor, Northern Ireland).

They will have to re-open on time because the Watsons who own Woodlands Estate in Margaret River will be there for a winemakers’ lunch on 3 Sep. Other wine producers featured at special dinners planned in this 10th anniversary year for the The Harrow include Kooyong of Mornington Peninsula, Haan Estate of Barossa and Gosset of Champagne.
