For all other articles and more than 1,600 tasting notes on this sparse vintage, please see Burgundy 2012 – a guide to our coverage.

The tasting notes below are grouped in alphabetical order by producer (sur)name and then under each producer by colour first (white then red), then by quality level (regional, then village, then premier cru, then grand cru), and finally, where there is more than one wine within a level, they are in alphabetical order by appellation/vineyard name.

DOMAINE JACQUES CACHEUX ET FILS

Dom Jacques Cacheux et Fils, Les Chalandins 2012 Vosne-Romanée

Mid cherry colour and bright cherry aroma with some oak sweetness. Better on the nose than on the palate, which is dry and a little flat. Fine-grained tannins but the fruit in the middle is a little slight for the structure. (JH)

Dom Jacques Cacheux et Fils, Grand Cru 2012 Échezeaux

Oak firmly in evidence on the nose, over sweet red cherries and damsons. Like the Vosne-Romanée Les Chalandins, a little dry on the mid palate, rather lean. Maybe it will take on flesh? (JH)
