For all other articles and more than 1,600 tasting notes on this sparse vintage, please see Burgundy 2012 – a guide to our coverage.

The tasting notes below are grouped in alphabetical order by producer (sur)name and then under each producer by colour first (white then red), then by quality level (regional, then village, then premier cru, then grand cru), and finally, where there is more than one wine within a level, they are in alphabetical order by appellation/vineyard name.

DOMAINE PIERRE DAMOY

Dom Pierre Damoy, Clos Tamisot 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin

Dark and savoury and inviting. On the palate, moderate fruit weight leaves the tannins a touch prominent at the moment but it's vibrant and should come into a dark-fruited balance with a bit of time in bottle. (JH)

DOMAINE DANIEL DAMPT

Dom Daniel Dampt, Fourchaume Premier Cru 2012 Chablis

White peach, light-grained texture. Lovely citric bite with plenty of density, but not much wider complexity – should gain some with age. (RH)

DOMAINE SÉBASTIEN DAMPT

Dom Sébastien Dampt 2012 Chablis

Mealy, cereal aromas and a milky character with lovely green fruit too. So Chablis! Good, fresh, crisp typicality. (RH)

DOMAINE VINCENT DAMPT

Dom Vincent Dampt, Côte de Léchet Premier Cru 2012 Chablis

A little riper smelling than the Vaillons, light note of orange pith and spice. Super-fresh and super-lively intensity. This definitely shows the best of this vintage with intensity, freshness and length. Terrific wine and VVGV. (JH)

Dom Vincent Dampt, Vaillons Premier Cru 2012 Chablis

Intense minerally aroma but suggesting fruit depth. Intense and so direct on the palate, a hint of creaminess to soften than intensity – there's a sort of citrus character without masses of fruit flavour. Persistent. GV (JH)

Dom Vincent Dampt, Bougros 2012 Chablis Grand Cru

Deeply mineral and deeply creamy. Broader on the palate than the Côte de Léchet but equally intense and fresh. May have more staying power but I think the Côte de Léchet is the better buy. (JH)

DOMAINE HENRI DARNAT

Dom Henri Darnat 2012 Meursault

Creamy overlay on crisp, mouthwatering citrus. Moderate intensity but marked persistence. Intense citrus on the palate but there's a boiled-sweets effect on the finish that suggests it needs some time to meld. (JH)

DOMAINE DARVIOT-PERRIN

Dom Darviot-Perrin, Les Crays 2012 Monthelie

A welcome hint of oak here just adds enough spicy complexity without being intrusive. Firm-ish structure with lots of expressive floral, violet scent on the finish. Does a rather good impression of something rather more famous – Chambolle, perhaps? (RH)
