It is no longer a secret that Italy's deep south, Campania, is currently the source of some of the country's most exciting whites. The region is much less about heat and sun than you would expect. Owing to its many mountains and hillsides, temperatures range from Mediterranean heat to almost alpine coolness. So cool, in fact, that Campania has its own ski resorts, while its highest mountain, the Monte Cervati, rises up to almost 2,000 m (6,562 ft).
