Conti Costanti's Brunellos – 2003 back to 1988

See details of our Italian Wine Festival for other Italian tasting notes.

The Costanti estate is just outside the town of Montalcino and has been in Andrea Costanti’s family for more than two centuries. It is relatively high altitude and on generally rocky soil (galestro). Since the late 1990s the consultant oenologist has been Vittoria Fiore, who has been modernising the style to a certain extent.

Conti Costanti 2003 Brunello di Montalcino 16.5 Drink 2011-16
Sweet and floral, but a bit heavy and not appetising. A dry end. This relative brute will be released next year.
