Domaine Direct's French, and US, gems

Domaine Direct started off as long ago as 1981 as a Burgundy specialist, which means that it has allocations from some keenly sought-after addresses in the Côte d'Or. They soon ventured further afield, becoming UK importers for Leeuwin Estate in Margaret River and now import such California wines as those of Spottswoode and Nalle. 

I much enjoyed their autumn tasting and share my impressions below. You will see an unusually high number of scores of at least 17, most of them for burgundies that are not cheap, but are exceptionally and reliably satisfying.
