Australia’s most established maker of investment quality red wine is, for the first time, offering futures - in two very special bottlings from the 2004 vintage . They may benefit from soaking up some of the dollars and pounds that might otherwise have been lavished on 2004 bordeaux in a more dynamic campaign. Blithely ignoring the tussles involved in the Fosters takeover of parent company Southcorp, the Penfolds team have carefully chosen a pair to represent respectively one of their oldest single vineyards and one of their bi-regional blends.
